Logo Design
Did you just started a business of your own and you are wondering if it’s worth putting some of your startup budget toward a logo? If this is your situation, here are two reasons to help you understand why a logo is important for a business. A logo gives a company or brand more of a symbolic way for future clients or customers to have a connection to it. A logo is your business fingerprint identity which represents your entire business brand.
It’s fair to wonder if it’s worth it to have your business logo professionally done. The answer lies in whether or not if you want your business to have a professional look. If you want a professional look, you have to have a professional job done on your logo.
Logo design is a well-balanced approach of enforcing brands’ uniqueness in the market place via simple design yet strong visual presence. The simplicity yet design force is the main area of focus for me when working on logo designs.

Design procedures:
- Visit the company’s location and meet with the client to discuss/gather project information.
- Extensive company products and services research.
- Extensive competitors’ research.
- Try, taste or see the company in action to gather inside information for the logo design strategy.
For instance, for the Glen Cove Child Day Care Center logo project, I visited their facilities and research their competitors. I wanted the logo to fully connect/identify the business in a professional, fun and education format. I took several pictures of the location and children’s learning activities for my research. The daycare facility buildings have the style of a barn which it’s unique in the town. Bellow, is a photograph of the actual location which I took during my research.

After the research, I worked over several sketches that were discussed with the client. Once we had an agreement of the main ideas, I produced digital prototypes where the main search was focused on shapes and imagery.
I incorporated the actual outline of their buildings to visually connect their facilities. This would help the audience to quickly identify the Daycare and create strong brand recognition. For the font type, I utilize a fun-loving style with bug shapes that relates to their science learning activities. As for the color palette, the search didn’t take long because the clients primarily set their preferences on dark red shades. The chosen color palette was base on their building barn colors.
